Terms of Service

1.Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Neo ID, including our websites, APIs, and authentication services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Neo ID.
2.Definitions
"Service" means Neo ID identity and authentication platform, including websites, APIs, SDKs, and related tools. "User" means any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Service. "Personal Data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, as defined by GDPR. "Processing" means any operation performed on Personal Data, as defined by GDPR. "Controller" means Neo ID, which determines the purposes and means of Processing Personal Data.
3.The Service
Neo ID provides identity and authentication features, including email/password login, OAuth login (Google, GitHub), passkey/WebAuthn support, multi-factor authentication (TOTP, email codes), session management, access tokens, and developer tools for service registration. The Service may evolve, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
4.Accounts and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share passwords, tokens, or passkeys. You are responsible for keeping your multi-factor authentication methods secure. You must notify us promptly (within 24 hours) if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.
5.Age Requirement
You must be at least 16 years old to use Neo ID, in compliance with GDPR Article 8. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. Users who register via OAuth (Google/GitHub) will be asked to confirm their age upon first login. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 16.
6.Prohibited Use
You must not: (a) use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or networks; (c) interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers; (d) distribute malware, harmful code, or exploits; (e) misuse OAuth flows, API keys, or authentication mechanisms; (f) infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others; (g) engage in automated data collection (scraping, crawling) without prior written consent; (h) use the Service for competitive analysis or to build a competing product.
7.Availability and SLA
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable. However, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or specific uptime levels. We may perform maintenance, updates, or emergency interventions that temporarily affect availability. We will provide reasonable advance notice for planned maintenance when practicable.
8.Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with third-party services (for example, OAuth providers like Google and GitHub). Your use of those third-party services is governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. We disclaim all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of third-party services.
9.Connected Applications
When you sign in to a connected application using Neo ID, you authorize Neo ID to provide that application with information and tokens needed to complete authentication. Connected applications are responsible for how they use the information they receive. You can revoke access at any time from your profile settings. We are not responsible for the actions of connected applications.
10.Developer Services
If you register a service on Neo ID, you receive a Client ID and Client Secret. You must keep your Client Secret confidential and rotate it immediately if compromised. You are responsible for the security, behavior, and compliance of applications using your credentials. You must not share credentials across multiple applications without our written consent.
11.Intellectual Property
Neo ID source code is open-source and distributed under the MIT License. These Terms do not replace or modify that software license. These Terms apply only to your use of the public Neo ID service instance operated by the administrators. All trademarks, logos, and brand names are the property of their respective owners.
12.User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We may remove content that violates these Terms without prior notice.
13.Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
14.Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Neo ID, its administrators, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred (100) USD, whichever is greater.
15.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Neo ID, its administrators, contributors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
16.Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, used the Service in a harmful way, or pose a security risk. You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 11, 13, 14, 15, and 17 shall survive termination.
17.Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Moldova (Moldova legislation), without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of Moldova. You agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally before initiating formal proceedings. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
18.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date indicates when changes were last made. Material changes will be notified via email or prominent notice on the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and request account deletion.
19.Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
20.Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Neo ID regarding the Service, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
